JOHN DEERE CANADA PARTNERS WITH NIAGARA 2022 CANADA SUMMER GAMES
The Niagara 2022 Host Society is delighted to announce its partnership with John Deere Canada, who will be the presenting sponsor for Grimsby’s 13 For 13 Cultural Festival event celebrating the cultural heritage of Grimsby and Prince Edward Island. Taking place on Saturday, August 20 at the Grimsby Peach King Centre, this event will be held on the final night of the 13 For 13 Festival and will celebrate the future host of the 2023 Canada Winter Games, which will be taking place in P.E.I. just six months after the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games.
The 13 For 13 Cultural Festival is a one-of-a-kind initiative that will see each of Niagara’s 13 municipalities host a free event on separate days throughout the duration of the Games (visit website for schedule). These nightly events will celebrate the cultural heritage and identities of Canada's 13 provinces and territories through entertainment, food, art, dance and more.
In addition to supporting 13 For 13, John Deere Canada will also serve as the title sponsor of Grimsby’s leg of the 2022 Canada Games Torch Relay. Beginning at John Deere’s Grimsby facility on Saturday, July 23 at 9:00 a.m., the Torch will travel through Grimsby and eventually complete its journey at the Grimsby Peach King Centre.

Held every two years, alternating between winter and summer, the Canada Games are the country’s marquee event for amateur sport representing the highest level of national competition for thousands of up-and-coming Canadian athletes. The 28th edition of the Canada Games will mark just the third occasion in the event’s history that it will have taken place in the province of Ontario and the first time in 21 years. In total, more than 5,000 participants and close to 4,500 volunteers are expected to take part in the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games scheduled for August 6-21, 2022.
